History of Gweedore
While there is evidence of earlier settlers in Gweedore such as the remains of a medieval church in Magheragallan, prehistoric kitchen middens ón Gola Island & the Ogham stones in Sraith na Cille, it's though that the more permanent settlers whose descendants still occupy the area today didn't arrive until the 17th century.
